in the 1980s it was reported that in parts of West Africa enraged mobs had killed a number of "penis snatchers": witches who had been accused of leaving their victims as smooth between the legs as Action Man.

Like many stories involving impotence, it provoked winces of sympathy as well as comic sniggers, especially from men who recognised that in cultures where ideals of "manhood" were based more on sexual potency than on, say, being good at crosswords, "penis snatching" was more or less equivalent to "body snatching".

The sad truth that emerges from Angus McLaren's cultural history of impotence is that this amounts to just about every Western culture since the Ancient Greeks. Impotence may have produced a far richer vocabulary than headaches or piles - pillock, fumbler, bungler, and dozens more - but when it comes to explaining why they have no lead in their pencils, men's creative energies have usually been diverted in a single direction: finding someone else to blame.

A naked rally - Bare As You Dare

World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international event in which participants plan, meet and ride together en masse on human-powered transport (the vast majority on bicycles, and fewer on skateboards, roller blades, roller skates) to "protest oil dependency and celebrate the power and individuality of our bodies".

WNBR is a clothing-optional bike ride. The dress code motto is "Bare As You Dare". Full and partial (especially topfree) nudity is encouraged, but not mandatory, on all rides. Requiring partial cover-up is strictly forbidden and is a distinguishing feature of WNBR versus other cycling events.

Rumours are rife that Leonardo DiCaprio may be set to wed his model girlfriend Bar Rafaeli this year.

But now:
The Italian version of Vanity Fair presents an interview with Bar Rafaeli, the super model and girlfriend to Leonardo DiCaprio.
She is clear about it: She will never wed anyone.
She does not believe in the idea of marriage.

Some facts about this talented artist:
DiCaprio was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, the son of George DiCaprio, a distributor of comic books, and Irmelin Indenbirken, a former legal secretary. DiCaprio's German mother moved from Oer-Erkenschwick, Germany to the U.S. during her childhood, while his father is of half Italian and half German descent.

DiCaprio's parents met while attending college together and subsequently moved to Los Angeles.[1] His last name means "from Capri" in Italian; he was named after artist Leonardo da Vinci, as his pregnant mother was standing in front of a da Vinci painting at a museum in Italy when DiCaprio first kicked; his paternal grandfather's middle name was also "Leon".[1] DiCaprio's parents divorced when he was a year old, and he subsequently lived mostly with his mother, although his father was also around. During his childhood, DiCaprio was interested in baseball cards, comic books and frequently visited museums, often with his father.

He also spent part of his childhood in Germany, where his maternal grandparents, Wilhelm and Helene, still lived, and still speaks German fluently. DiCaprio and his mother lived in several poor neighborhoods (which DiCaprio has described as the "Ghettos of Hollywood"), and his mother worked several jobs to support them.[1]
